France decided to allow controlled and regulated access to online casino operators. They come up with model standards that will protect the French citizens.

Alan Bauer the president of the French National Crime Commission make a list of important steps to be considered and observe as the online casino is gradually opened. France will create an agency that is responsible for monitoring and licensing applicants for legal online gambling. They will regularly check the records and monitor for fraud and cheating that may happen.

They set limit for licensing and only those online casinos with a history of seven or more years are allowed to apply. The online casinos are expected for full disclosure and transparency such as investors, shareholders and by checking the employees’ background.

Upon player registration they need to submit a legal form of identification such as French bank account and issuing a distinct PIN for activation and play. In this way they can monitor the status of the players. This will also protect the young players to be part in this gambling.

France Government is also expecting that the online casinos will share information such as suspicious sports betting patterns and some regulation to prevent wagering by sources with team or player connections.  They also had a system to detect and block problem gamblers.

France Government has carefully done an excellent job in protecting their citizenry since they know that banning online gambling is not the solution. I hope United States will also consider this option.
